Thank you for your interest in a portrait session with me! I am willing to work with you and your ideas to achieve the best photos possible. I would also like you to take into account my portrait style so that you will be happy with the images. My style is more natural and laid back than the traditional posed shot. I like to try many different things and I work very hard so that your pictures stand out from everyone else's.

I am mostly on location and prefer natural lighting for portrait sessions. I am also able to use artificial light for wedding ceremonies and receptions. By booking a session with me you need to be aware that we are also working with the weather and may need to be flexible with our session.

FAQ's

What is your payment policy?

The session fee is due at the time of your photo session. Any and all remaining balances must be paid before product delivery.

Upon request, I offer payment plans.

I am able to accept session fees on site using Paypal's mobile credit/debit card reader. I also accept checks.

How long do sessions last?

A typical shoot lasts 1 hour. I reserve the right to end the session when I feel like I have enough quality photos to give you a good variety.

What should I wear?

I highly recommend to all of my family portrait clients that they choose clothing that coordinates but that isn’t all the same. Overall, you don’t want everyone in your photo to look like a clone of everyone else…this immediately sets your photo back in time (to when the cool thing to do was to have everyone in the photo wear white shirts with blue jeans) and it also makes everyone in the photo blend together rather than letting their distinct personalities shine through. Your photos will have more style and class if you choose neutral colors with one (or maybe two) complimentary colors running between them. Adding many layers (think scarves, jackets, vests, etc...) creates a wonderful texture and depth to the images.

Do you retouch your images?

Yes. Every photo is hand-toned with Adobe quality software. My extensive & stylistic retouching method is a core part of my creative process. I refine and put my creative touches on each image to give it the unique Emily DeFour Photography finish.

I understand that you want to look your best for your photos so if there is anything that you would like removed you will need to let me know. Please understand that this takes a great deal of time and there are limits to what I am able to do.

Do you offer people full resolution discs with printing rights?

Yes I do. A digital collection of fully enhanced high resolution photos with personal use printing release is available for purchase.

Can I use, edit, print, or crop images Emily DeFour Photography posts on the internet?
